An alumnus of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and
Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, David Appell has written and
edited for a wide range of magazines, newspapers, new media, and
television since 1988. In recent years he has specialized in various
forms of travel and lifestyle journalism; among other things, he has
been:

-On staff at Condé Nast Traveler, GQ, Diversion, and HarperCollins' 
guidebooks division

-Executive Editor of Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, Caribbean Travel 
& Life, and ShermansTravel.com

-Author of travel guidebooks for HarperCollins and John Wiley

-Author of numerous articles and material for diverse media outlets, from 
Travel+Leisure and Consumer Reports to the International Herald Tribune 
and Spain's El País.

David speaks and writes seven languages, all of which he can actually
use in his cosmopolitan home base of Miami, Florida.
